National WebCheck allows Official Investigations & Security Services, Inc. to conduct civilian fingerprint background checks against the state AFIS and the FBI via the Internet, reducing the response time required to perform a background check to within two business days - generally within a few hours!

With National WebCheck, FBI background checks no longer need to be submitted manually. The software produces and transmits a transaction with the images and demographics that are required by both the FBI IAFIS and the State agency. This is facilitated by the capture of all necessary images with a three-step capture routine, accepting three, consecutive, plain impressions:

the four fingers simultaneously for the right hand
the four fingers simultaneously for the left hand, and
the two thumbs simultaneously.

The system performs a sequence check and then segments the fingers to produce fourteen separate images (required by the FBI). The fingerprints are then checked for image quality and correct orientation to ensure the quality of the prints submitted to the systems.

Results of the background check are sent back to the submitting workstation over the Internet.
